Welcome to Pocket Money Diaries, where we ask our GoHenry members how they spend, save, and earn their pocket money.
Name: Liam Dickson
Age: 12
Incoming money this month:
£8 from pocket money
£15 from friends (birthday money)
£5 from my brother trading Pokémon cards
Weekly pocket money:
I get £2 each week. I started getting pocket money when I was 6 years old when I first got my GoHenry card.
Savings goal:
I am saving for a few things at the moment. I would like a laptop/computer or an e-scooter. In the past, I’ve saved for Lego and Match Attax card packs.

Additional earnings:
I earn more by doing extra chores around the house, like being kind to my younger brother, Ben and helping my parents.
Weekly/monthly expenses:
I usually save most of my money, but sometimes I might buy sweets or art supplies (for example, Posca pens or paints). I also use my money to buy gifts, like birthday presents for my brother, parents, or friends.
What else did you buy this month:
Pokémon cards.
At home, what kind of conversations do you have about money?
At home, we talk about how expensive things are at the moment. My parents and my brother tell me how important it is to save money and be careful with it. I also do the Money Missions on the Go Henry app. It helps me understand the value of what I want to buy. All the Money Missions are helpful when it comes to money, as are the open conversations with my parents.
Does anything worry you about money?
No.
What’s your best money-saving tip?
Using GoHenry auto-save helps you save part of your pocket money automatically without having to think about it. It’s a great way to save
