gohenry started with us – a small group of friends and parents who wanted to help our children understand how money works in the modern world and in the process make allowance easier to manage and a positive experience in the house.
We were funding our kids iTunes accounts with our own debit cards and paying extra here and there – all in between scrambling around for their weekly allowance.
We needed a simple solution that was easy for parents and practical for kids, and designed specifically for families. We struggled to find something so we started gohenry.
Our solution: a debit card and app with unique parental controls. Designed from the ground up to make managing allowance easy and to offer kids an intuitive budgeting tool and safe spending solution - the goal was to give families something they could easily use in their everyday life.
Launched in 2012, our community has rocketed to over 1,000,000 members. As the first to market globally, we’re proud to be the largest company in this space.
We’ve been named by KPMG and H2 ventures as one of the world’s Leading 100 Fintech Innovators and in the 8th fastest growing tech business in the UK by the Sunday Times in their Tech Track 100.
We’ve grown a customer base more diverse than we ever could have imagined and discovered that our service helps people from many different walks of life.
Along the way, we’ve tried to give back and help our community do the same - we offer our members the chance to give a small part of their allowance to Boys & Girls Clubs of America via our app.
Backed by our own customers, the management team and co-founders, and a network of smart Angel investors, including CEOs from a few of the biggest private and public internet companies in the world. During equity crowdfunding campaigns on Crowdcube our customers buy shares in the company. In 2016 we broke an equity crowdfunding world record by raising $5.6m on Crowdcube and in 2018 we did it again raising $8.1m - with over $3m coming from our very own customers.
We’d love to tell you about what we do. Contact us if you’d like to speak to us about our aim of helping young people learn about money. To get in touch, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
