At GoHenry our mission is simple – it’s to help millions of kids be good with money. To do this, we’ve always worked closely with our customers to co-create our service and ensure we deliver on this mission.
One thing we’ve heard a lot is that families would like their relatives to be able to help out with allowance, particularly when Grandma and Grandpa want to give a little extra. We’ve also heard from parents that their kids get a lot of unwanted presents on their birthdays – and that it would be better if friends and family could just put a little birthday money towards the things their kids are saving for.
So we created giftlinks.
Giftlinks is a brand new GoHenry feature, designed to save your friends and family some time by sending money straight to your child’s GoHenry card – for birthdays and celebrations or just the everyday. Each link is totally secure, free of charge, and gifters can add their own personal message. The lucky recipients get more money to manage, can decide whether to spend it or save up for something special and write thank you messages straight from the GoHenry app.

Birthdays made easy
When it comes to birthdays, choosing a gift for a child can be something of a hassle. Which means you probably either spend valuable time fielding requests for ideas or receive a whole host of unwanted presents, which – let’s face it – is just plain wasteful.
By letting everyone gift money to your child’s GoHenry card, you’ll not only save everyone (including yourself!) a lot of time and effort, you’ll be creating a larger pot of money for your child to manage. If they choose to save it, they’ll be able to set their sights on something bigger than when saving alone – and gain a sense of true satisfaction once they’ve achieved their goal.

Helping out with the everyday
Grandparents contributing to a grandchild’s allowance for an excellent school report or sporting achievement, or spending money for the summer vacation: there are plenty of reasons family and friends might want to send money to your child – and that’s where everyday links come in. Create and share an everyday link and it can be used again and again, making one-off gifts super easy. And once your child’s received the money, whether they spend or save it, it all goes towards helping them develop better money skills.
